This Privacy Policy explains how TallyCloud (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you visit tallycloud.net, contact us or use our services. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable Indian law.
1. Data we collect
- Contact and enquiry data — name, email, mobile number, company name and message when you submit a contact or migration form.
- Account data — details of the account owner and users you create, including login identifiers.
- Billing data — billing name, address, GSTIN and transaction references. Card and bank details are handled by our payment gateway and are not stored by us.
- Usage and security data — sign-in records, IP addresses, audit events and support tickets.
- Workspace content — your Tally company data and files. We host this on your behalf and do not use it for any other purpose.
2. Why we use it
- To provide, secure, back up and support the service you ordered.
- To respond to enquiries and migration requests.
- To issue invoices and meet tax and legal obligations.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- To send service notices. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent, and you can opt out at any time.
3. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, or for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act, such as providing a service you requested or complying with law.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the service (for example, infrastructure, payment and communication providers) under contractual obligations to protect it, or where required by law.
5. Storage and security
Customer workspaces are hosted in India. We apply safeguards including workspace isolation, authenticated access, encrypted connections (TLS), daily backup and audit logging. See Backup & Security.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records). Workspace data is deleted after the post-cancellation retention period described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights. You may also raise a grievance with us and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Grievance officer
Contact our Grievance Officer at support@tallycloud.net with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will respond within the time required by law.
